Eyelash Yarn Bargain Alert!
I just found a whole bunch of Lion Brand eyelash yarn at my local Dollar Tree store for only a dollar a ball. They had both Fancy Fur and Fun Fur in a variety of colors.
That's a significant savings; the Fancy Fur has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $5.99, and the Fun Fur has a suggested retail price of $4.99. You can sometimes buy these yarns for less, but until now, I've never seen them sell for that much less.
I can't promise you that your local Dollar Tree will have this yarn, but it might be worth checking out if you are interested in shopping for eyelash yarn right now.

I always look at the yarn at Big Lots because you never know what bargain you will find. I am an avid thrifter as well and sometimes you can find great yarns in colors that they just do not make today. I really like your overlapping design, could possibly be a great motif on a sweater.
Hi Hookin31!
Thanks for the tip about Big Lots. I hadn’t thought to shop there for yarn, but I will check it out and see what they have.
I love thrift stores too! I’ve found some fantastic yarn bargains at thrifts as well. It’s hit or miss what you’ll find, but it’s always fun to look.
That’s a great idea, RE using the overlapping design as a motif on a sweater. Thanks for the suggestion!

Yes! I was just at the Big Lots here and they just got another shipment in. The ribbon yarn too.
My daughter *who does not crochet* LOL was looking through one of my crochet mag. tonight and seen a doll in there w/ eyelash hair on her. She loved it. I was laid off my job and guess what she is getting for Christmas I am think’n.
Thanks for tip for Dollar Tree.
Thanks for your tip about the eyelash yarn
at Dollar Tree!
I have found ribbon yarn at Dollar Tree also!
Good afternoon everyone. I NEVER thought to look at the stores you mentioned for yarn ! ! ! What a GREAT idea. ALSO, is there some TRICK to crocheting with eyelash yarn? Tried it once but I couldn’t “see” the previous stitches and ended up with a “glob”. Thanks so much for the tips.
Check out The Dollar Store ans Big Lots for Yarn!!! I have found Lion Brand Suede for $1.00!!!!!
Iguess I’ve been lucky, I found the yarn at Dollar Tree about 8 months ago and Big Lots has been carrying it for close to a year. I made several scarves for $3 to $4 each. My favorate was a light blue fun fur with a white thicker bumpy yarn. needed 2 fun fur and 1 white bumpy. Just loved it. Gave my entire scarf stash away this summer at a 70th B-day party for my Aunt. Saw lots of family hadn’t seen in a while and every one got to pick. Of course the B-day girl got first choice.

I, too, found eyelash and ribbon yarn at the Dollar Tree store, and bought some of each. Now that I have at least 10 balls of the ribbon yarn, I don’t know what to do with it, and am about to donate it to a senior center or somplace. What does one make with it?
As a tip with the eyelash yarn, I found that removing the band and using the outside strand instead of pulling from the middle was MUCH easier. I was used to pulling from inside the skein, but the eyelash tangled so easily doing it that way. The outside strand works very well.
If you hold one strand of eyelash yarn with one strand or worsted weight or sport weight yarn…you will be able to see the stitches you just made (crocheting). That is the secret!
