Lately I've been working on a crocheting a couple of different things. I have a new crocheted baby blanket in progress; since that is taking me longer than expected, I also finished a couple of quick pouches to post in the meanwhile.
The one you see pictured has been hanging around on my to-do list for an embarrassingly long time now. If you've been a longtime reader of this website, it's possible that you could remember my previous blog post about a Valentine love note keeper. That post was dated Feb 24, 2010. Yikes. Depending on how you look at it, I'm either seven months late with posting this, or maybe you could think of it as being five months early (for next Valentine's Day, that is. Even if you're a slooooooow crocheter, you could for sure manage to get some of these pouches done in time for Valentine gift-giving!)
I strayed from my original plan a little bit; I was originally planning to make the closure a simple button and button loop. You could do that if you want to, but in the end I decided to go with a zipper, so it is a zippered pouch. I'm liking it!
I've also crocheted a new plarn pouch, and started a list of plarn craft ideas and free crochet patterns. The plarn pouch is plainer and less "froofy," so if froo-froo isn't your thing, I hope you'll take a look at it. Also important: it's a frugal project that you won't have to spend a bundle to make. Since I got the plarn for free, by cutting up plastic grocery bags, my only real expense in making this project was the zipper.
I hope you'll enjoy these free patterns! Thanks so much for dropping by.
