Jagged-Looking Edges When Crocheting From a Chart

Do you enjoy crocheting from charts and graphs? Have you ever had problems with your charted designs turning out jagged looking in the areas where the colors touch each other?

I just received an email from a reader who is having that issue. Here's a link to her story, and the answer I gave her. Perhaps there are other solutions beyond what I explained to her, so if you know of a better way to solve this problem I'm sure she'd appreciate your comments. Thanks in advance for any insights you care to share.
