Do you enjoy crocheting flowers and floral projects? I do!

I'm delighted to share two new free patterns for projects with a floral theme. I hope you'll enjoy them.

This flower is similar to the flat flower applique I linked you to in a recent blog post. There are a couple of slight differences. Compared to the other flower petals, these petals each have one less stitch in them, making them slimmer; the stitches are treble crochets rather than double crochets, which results in slightly longer petals.

I designed this pattern because I wanted a flower with long, slim petals to use in a flower granny hexagon pattern. This flower works perfectly for that purpose.

New Free Hexagon Crochet Pattern:

There are many different ways you could use those crocheted flowers, but this is one idea I came up with. I turned my sample flower into the center of a hexagon-shaped crochet motif.

In theory, I think the hexagon pattern would make fabulous afghans -- although I haven't actually tried joining them yet to make sure they fit together nicely.

Both the flower and the floral hexagon patterns are available for free on our website. If you'd like to try crocheting some of these goodies for yourself, you're invited to check out the patterns and give 'em a try.
