These fingerless gloves start out as simple crocheted rectangles. During the finishing process, the rectangles are easily transformed into stylish accessories that will be a welcome addition to any lady's fall or winter wardrobe.
I love the stitch used to crochet this pattern. It's so pretty, but soooooooooo amazingly simple. The name of the stitch is moss stitch," although some people also refer to it as "Granite stitch." There may be other names for it too. Whatever you call it, it's an easy and quick stitch to work with. If you want to work this pattern, you only need to know the chain stitch and the single crochet!
I crocheted a pair of these gloves (and a matching headband) to give to a friend; the upper photo shows how they look wrapped up together with a bit of pretty ribbon. Obviously, I think these items make great gifts, but I'm also keeping a pair of the gloves and giving a few pairs to charity too. I hope you'll enjoy these patterns as much as I'm enjoying them!
