The slip stitch is a really basic stitch only requiring a few quick motions, but it's also a powerful and important stitch to know; you can build entire fabrics using the stitch, and you can also use it to join granny squares, pieces of garments, and other things.
The short video tutorial linked above is a fantastic resource for learning to crochet the stitch, although the video doesn't cover everything there is to know about it.
