You can do all different kinds of things with beads and wire, so I'm sure nobody will be surprised to see me posting about how you can crochet with these items. However, this technique might not be quite what you'd expect; it's a little different than others I've seen.
I developed this technique because I thought it would be an interesting way to make rigid beaded shapes that don't need starching or ironing. I've been using it to make appliques and motifs; there are many other possibilities. It would also be a fantastic technique to use for making ornaments and things like that. I had originally envisioned using it to make jewelry too, although I keep getting sidetracked and have yet to actually finish a jewelry project using the technique.
So far I've made a beaded apple, beaded heart, and beaded snowflake. Free crochet patterns and / or tutorials for all of those projects are available on our website, if you'd like to give them a try.
I've listed a few more ideas for using this technique, along with the free tutorial. Hope it'll inspire you!
