January 27, 2014 Edition
I love connecting with other crafters, and finding out what everyone is interested in making right now. I'm also fascinated by crochet and craft trends in general.
As I was researching the "trending" crochet and craft list for this week, I came across an item on it that struck me as being particularly interesting:
I suppose this makes perfect sense. At around this time every year, I start getting antsy for warm weather to arrive. This longing for warmth sometimes manifests itself in the form of new spring and summer crochet projects, particularly new flower patterns. Don't get me wrong, I love crocheting flowers all year long...any time is a good time to crochet a flower, if you ask me. But, when I look back at past newsletters, I can see that I've often designed new flowers during the month of January.
And apparently, I'm not alone in wanting to work on flowers right now...
So, I've been whipping up some new flower patterns to share with you all. The first "early bloomers" in my garden this year are these easy sunflower appliques. I just posted the free crochet pattern in the wee hours this morning -- it's brand new, hot off the press, so to speak. I hope you'll enjoy it.
In case you are interested in seeing the other items on the "trending" list, I've posted it below. I compiled this list of currently trending topics by looking at a bunch of different sources around the Internet, including trending data from our own website, plus Google Trends data, plus posts on my list of interesting crochet blogs.
Here's what I found that people are interested in working on, and learning more about, at the moment:
- Crochet Flowers
- Crochet Beanies
- Crochet Blankets
- Crochet Hats
- Single Crochet Patterns
- Crochet Scarves
I hope you'll find this list as interesting as I did.
