Crocheting in the Round

Crocheting in the Round - Keeping Track

There are two basic methods for crocheting in the round. One is to end each round with a slip stitch made in the first stitch of that round, which joins the round. The other is to work in continuous rounds. When using the method of continuous rounds, it can be easy to lose track of the place where one round ended and the next began.

When crocheting in continuous rounds, how do you keep track of what round number you are on as your crochet hook flies around the circle?

An old crocheter's trick is to put a safety pin in the last single crochet or double crochet stitch of the first round, to mark the end of the round. Move the safety pin to the last stitch each time you complete another round.
