From crochet.about.com - Poodle Chart (Small)

Chart is shown done as a filet crochet design but is suitable for many different needlework applications:
Cross stitch on aida cloth, cross stitch on a crocheted single crochet or afghan stitch background, crocheting or knitting the color design in on a piece, needlepoint, loom beadwork or adapted for peyote and other beading techniques, pieced quilt blocks.

Printing Hints: If you find that only the ad at the top of the page prints, when you try to print out the pattern, try clicking somewhere on a blank area of the pattern portion of the page, then click on File at the top of your Internet browser and choose Print. Having clicked on the pattern part of the page first tells your printer what part of the page you want to print. If there is a selection showing such as "Print Selected Frame Only" in the printer box that pops up, choose that option.

If working the chart in filet crochet:
Starting Chain (for a 4 double crochet mesh): Total is 45 chains - that's a chain 40, plus chain 3 (which counts as first dc of first row), plus chain 2 (for the ch-2 of first open mesh), which is a total starting chain of 45 chains. To form first open mesh, dc in 9th chain from hook. Starting at bottom right-hand side, follow chart.

I recharted this dog chart from a chart in Alphabets in Crochet by Emma Farnes, Including Small Filet Designs, No copyright date in book, circa 1920 or earlier.

How long does copyright last? See US Government Copyright Office web site at http://www.loc.gov/copyright. Under "Publications" heading, click on "Information Circulars": Circular 15 (Renewal of Copyrights), Circular 15a (Duration of Copyrights) and Circular 15t (Extension of Copyright Terms) will be helpful.

Please be courteous and don't post on your own web site (or on an Internet Bulletin Board) the actual chart that is on this page. Instead, you are welcome to post the URL of this page so that anyone who would like the chart may come here for themselves and benefit from everything else this site has to offer. Thank you.

Please extend the same courtesy to other webmasters when you are at other sites on the Web. You will like to have the same done for you when you are the one with the work and expense of putting items on your own web pages. Thank you.
