Clusters and Shells

Within this feature there are instructions for crocheting this stitch combo. into a 7 inch square; a good practice size.

If you make your practice square with cotton yarn, you could use it as a face cloth or make two to join (with a single crochet edging around) for a potholder.

You decide:

Which color combination do you prefer?

All in one color

A solid and a co-ordinating variegated

Two contrasting colors

In this pattern, unless noted otherwise, each shell = 5 dc worked in same stitch.

Unless noted otherwise, each cluster = 5 dc worked across 5 sts.

To make a cluster of 5 dc: * Yarn over, insert hook in next stitch, yarn over, draw yarn through the stitch, yarn over, draw through 2 loops on hook *, repeat from * to * 4 times. Yarn over, draw yarn through 6 loops on hook.
