Not just for quilters, the Art & Inspirations book series is wonderful as inspiration for crafters in any medium.

The designs presented are not there to be copied exactly, but to serve as a point of inspiration from which you would then develop your own original work.

Whether designing for their own enjoyment or for profit, crocheters and other needleworkers charting designs after studying these books are bound to be much more imaginative in their approach to their own design process.

Art & Inspirations - Ruth B. McDowell Ruth so enjoyably shows us with her quilted examples how to create symmetry, fractals and repeat patterns, to name a few, with subjects such as herbs, pelicans and cats within the patterns. More about her book: Read my book review here.
