Halloween Ghost Free Pattern An Original Design by Sandi Marshall
This ghost is an example of an item that can be crocheted beginning with
the basic flat circle instructions. I started with three rounds of the
Basic Crocheted Flat Circle With Solid Center directions,
then I designed the ghost shape to go around that.
It could be used as an applique or made into a pin or magnet.
Gauge: Center circle is 1/2 inch in diameter, after 3 rounds
Abbreviations: ch = chain
dc = double crochet
ea = each
hdc = half double crochet
rnd = round
sc = single crochet
sl st = slip stitch
tr = treble
dtr = double treble
To Begin: Chain 2.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sl st in first sc, to join.
Rnd 2: ch 1, 2 sc in ea sc around. Sl st in first sc, to join. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: ch 1, (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. Sl st in first sc, to join. (18 sc)
Rnd 4:working around the circle, this round forms the ghost shape - ch 3, (tr, dtr) both in next sc, ch 4, sl st in same sc as dtr just made,
sc in ea of next 2 sc, (hdc, dc) both in next sc, 2 tr in next sc, (dc, hdc) both in next sc,
sc in next sc, ch 4, (tr, dtr) both in next sc, 2 tr in next sc, dc in next sc, hdc in ea of next 2 sc,
sc in next sc, 2 hdc in next dc, 2 dc in next sc, 3 tr in next sc, ch 3, dc in top of last tr made,
ch 3, sl st in same st (top of last tr made), ch 4, sl st in next sc of circle.
When finished, end off. Weave in ends.
Eyes: Using a fabric marker, make 2 black dots for eyes on the ghost head. Or you could
use regular sewing thread or embroidery floss to sew small stitches to create the eyes.
