Leaf Square
With Optional Pumpkin Applique

Use this as an afghan square or make it in cotton yarn for a potholder. Shown above is the version with a front piece joined to a contrasting backing, with two edging rounds of single crochet added. You can also use the front piece, by itself, as an afghan square.
|
Front Piece:
To begin the front piece, first make four single leaves. These can be made in one solid color or you may enjoy experimenting with various random combinations of fall leaf colors (such as red, orange, yellow, shades of green). |
|
Worsted weight yarn is used in the example but
you can substitute any other weight of yarn (this will adjust the
finished size).
