Take a little tour of a sampling of crocheted hat styles through the years, a glimpse into the history of ladies clothing. A larger photo of each is on that hat's pattern page. Complete directions are included for each style so that you can recreate any or all of them for yourself.
1940's

This one is made in single crochet - you can leave off the contrasting color ridge along the top for a plain close-fitting hat, if you prefer. [Go to Pattern] |
1938

Swirl Tam - Another close-fitting hat with an interesting ridged pattern. You could leave off the chain that is shown hanging from top center, if you wanted. [Go to Pattern] |
