Afghans come in many shapes, sizes, and styles. There are crochet baby blankets (which can also be used as small lapghans) and crochet blankets big enough to cover a California King sized bed. There are crochet blankets that begin in the center and are worked in rounds as well as blankets that are worked in rows and blankets made of joined crochet motifs. Most crochet afghans are rectangular in shape but you can find many designs that are round or square and even some other uniquely shaped blankets. You can crochet your blanket in a single solid color or in all of the colors under the sun.

This list of free crochet afghan patterns (and links to many more) includes a wide variety of themes and design elements. Whether you'd like to crochet a quick bulky throw or a fine thread crochet bedspread, a colorful baby blanket or a solid bed blanket, the pattern that you will need can be found here.
