Panda Bear Baby Bib Pattern

Worsted Weight Yarn
2 oz. white
1/2 oz. black
Size G crochet hook
Finished size: 10 inches round
Directions
Panda Bear:
Panda Head (make 1)
Rnd 1: ch 4, join with sl st to form ring; ch 3,
12 dc in ring, join with sl st in the top of the ch 3.
Rnd 2: ch 3, dc in same st as ch 3, 2 dc in ea dc
around, join with sl st.
Rnd 3: ch 3, dc in same st as ch 3, (dc in next dc,
2 dc in next dc) around, join with sl st.
Rnd 4: ch 3, dc in same st as ch 3, (dc in next 2 dc,
2 dc in next dc) around, join with sl st.
Rnd 5: ch 3, dc in same st as ch 3, (dc in next 3 dc,
2 dc in next dc) around, dc in last 3 dc, join with sl st.
Rnd 6: ch 3, dc in same st as ch 3, (dc in next 4 dc,
2 dc in next dc) around, dc in last 4 dc, join with sl st.
Rnd 7: ch 3, dc in same st as ch 3, (dc in next 5 dc,
2 dc in next dc) around, join with sl st.
Rnd 8: ch 3, dc in same st as ch 3, (dc in next 6 dc,
2 dc in next dc) around, join with sl st.
Rnd 9: ch 3, dc in same st as ch 3, (dc in next 7 dc,
2 dc in next dc) around, join with sl st.
Rnd 10: ch 1, (not too tightly) slip stitch in
ea dc around, join with sl st.
End off. Weave in ends.
Right Eye (make 1)
With black, ch 2.
Rnd 1: 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Do not join the round.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in ea sc around. (10 sc) Do not join the round.
Rnd 3: Attach white. With white, slip stitch in ea sc around.
Join with slip stitch in first sl st of this round. End off white.
Rnd 4: (Work in back loops of sl st for this round only.)
With black, ch 1, (sc in next sl st, 2 sc in next sl st) around. (15 sc)
Rnd 5: (sc, hdc, ch 1, sc) in first sc;
(sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) 4 times;
sc in next 3 sc, sl st in next sc.
Rnd 6: ch 1, TURN. sl st in next sc, sc in next sc, hdc in next sc,
(2 dc in next sc) 3 times; dc in next sc, (2 treble in next sc) 3 times;
(2 dc in next sc) 3 times; hdc in next sc, sc in next sc, sl st in next sc.
End off. Weave in ends.
Left Eye (make 1)
With black, ch 2.
Rnd 1: 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Do not join the round.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in ea sc around. (10 sc) Do not join the round.
Rnd 3: Attach white. With white, slip stitch in ea sc around.
Join with slip stitch in first sl st of this round. End off white.
Rnd 4: (Work in back loops of sl st for this round only.)
With black, ch 1, (sc in next sl st, 2 sc in next sl st) around. (15 sc)
Rnd 5: (sc, hdc) in first sc; (2 hdc in next sc) 2 times,
2 dc in next sc; (2 treble in next sc) 3 times; (2 dc in next sc) 5 times;
(hdc, sc) in next sc, sl st in next sc.
Row 6: ch 1, TURN. sl st in next sc, (2 sc in next st, sc in next st) twice,

Nose (make 1)
With black, ch 6.
Row 1: sc in back loop only of ea ch for this row
sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in ea sc across. (5 sc)
Row 2: ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in last sc. (7 sc)
Row 3: ch 1, 2 hdc in first sc, sl st in next 5 sc, 2 hdc in last sc. End off.
Attach yarn to first st of row 1, and continue with row 4:
Row 4: (Work in remaining loops of ch for this row.)
ch 1, sc first 2 sc tog, sc in next sc, sc last 2 sc tog.
Row 5: ch 1, draw up a loop in each of the next 3 sc, sc the 3 loops together.
End off.
Ears (make 4)
ch 2.
Row 1: 4 sc in 2nd ch from hook.
Row 2: ch 1, turn. 2 sc in ea sc across.
Row 3: ch 1, turn; (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat across.
Row 4: ch 1, turn; (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) across.
Row 5: ch 1, turn; (sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) across.
Row 6: ch 1, turn; (sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) across.
Row 7: ch 1, turn; (sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) across.
Muzzle (make 1)
Do not join rounds, unless otherwise specified.
With white, ch 2.
Rnd 1: 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in ea sc around. (16 sc)
Rnd 3: (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around. (24 sc)
Rnd 4: (sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) twice, hdc in next 2 sc;
2 dc in next sc; dc in next sc; treble in next sc; 2 tr in next sc;
(dc, hdc) in next sc; dc in next sc; tr in next sc; 2 tr in next sc;
tr in next sc; dc in next sc; (hdc, dc) in next sc; 2 tr in next sc;
dc in next sc; 2 dc in next sc; hdc in next 2 sc; (sc, sl st) in next sc.
Rnd 5: ch 1, (sc in next 3 st, 2 sc in next st) 3 times;
hdc in next st; 2 hdc in next st; hdc in next st; (sc in next st) twice;
2 sc in next st; hdc in next 2 st; 2 hdc in next st; hdc in next 2 st;

Rnd 6: ch 1, sl st in ea st around; (not too tight; keep slip
stitches rather loose); sl st in beginning sl st. End off.
Tie: (Make 2) At end of each row, you will chain 1 to turn.
ch 3.
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch. (2 sc)
Row 2: sc in ea sc across.
Repeat row 2 until tie measures 18 inches long. End off.
Finishing
With large-eye needle and white yarn,
embroider a tiny white center to each eye.
Optional
With large-eye needle and white yarn, using straight stitches,
sew a line of white across the nose, near the nose top (refer
to the diagram below).
Sew the nose to the muzzle.
With large-eye needle and black yarn,
using straight stitches, embroider the mouth shape to the muzzle.
Position the muzzle on the head, with the bottom chin of the muzzle hanging
slightly below the bottom of the head. Sew in place.
Position the eye pieces just above the muzzle. Sew in place.
Sew two ear pieces together along rounded edge. Turn right side out.
Sew bottom edge of ear to upper side of head. Repeat with other ear.
Sew one edge of tie to upper edge of bib, behind ear. Repeat with other tie.
