Crochet Afghan Squares

• Solid Shell Afghan Square by Sandi Marshall -- This afghan square combines the solid shell stitch with a border of half double crochet stitch for a beautiful textured effect.

• Spider Lace Afghan Square -- I am not sure who created the original vintage spider lace design.  It was included in a vintage crochet pattern book  by Emma Farnes in the early 1900s, but the design predates that publication. Sandi Marshall tweaked the pattern and used it to create the lovely afghan square linked here, giving you the best of both worlds -- a stunning vintage pattern with contemporary, easy-to-understand instructions.
