Pattern Notes
The hardest part of this pattern comes in the very beginning set up. Once you move past this section the rest of the instructions should be smooth sailing.

For this pattern you are working in rounds. This means you will not be turning your work after each line of instructions.

Bootie Instructions (Make 2 the Same)
Using larger hook and cc yarn, ch 11 loosely.

Set Up: 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc crochet in next 8 ch sts, 4 sc in last ch space, do not turn. Rotate your work 180 degrees to the right so that the row of sc you just worked is pointing down. You will now work across the bottom loops of your original ch. 1 sc in next 8 bottom loops of ch, 2 sc in last bottom loop (this is the same space you began in), sl st in first sc -- 24 sc sts total.

Rnd 1: Ch 1, 2 sc in 1st sc, 1 sc in next 10 sts, 2 sc in each of the next 2 sts, 1 sc in next 10 sts, 2 sc in last st, sl st to beginning ch -- 28 sc sts total.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in 1st sc, 1 sc in next 12 sts, 2 sc in each of the next 2 sts, 1 sc in next 12 sts, 2 sc in last st, sl st to beginning ch -- 32 sc sts total.

Rnd 3: Ch 1, 2 sc in 1st sc, 1 sc in next 14 sts, 2 sc in each of the next 2 sts, 1 sc in next 14 sts, 2 sc in last st, sl st to beginning ch -- 36 sc sts total.

Change to mc yarn.

Rnds 4 and 5: Ch 1, work 1 sc in every st around, sl st to beginning ch -- 36 sc sts.

Rnd 6: Ch 1, 1 sc in next 16 sts, sc2tog twice, 1 sc in next 16 sts, sl st to beginning ch -- 34 sc sts remain.

Rnd 7: Ch 1, 1 sc in next 13 sts, sc2tog 4 times, 1 sc in next 13 sts, sl st to beginning ch -- 30 sc sts remain.

Rnd 8: Ch 1, 1 sc in next 11 sts, sc2tog 4 times, 1 sc in next 11 sts, sl st to beginning ch -- 26 sc sts remain.

Rnd 9: Ch 1, 1 sc in next 7 sts, sc2tog 6 times, 1 sc in next 7 sts, sl st to beginning ch -- 20 sc sts remain.

Fasten off yarn.

Edging
Using larger hook, join cc yarn at back of ankle opening.

Work 1 sl st in every st around -- 20 sl sts.

Fasten off yarn.

Strap
With smaller hook and mc yarn, ch 3 loosely.

Row 1: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in next st, turn.

Row 2: Ch 1, 2 sc, turn.
*Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 3 inches long.

Cut yarn and fasten off.

Lay strap over top toe end of bootie just in front of ankle opening.

Sew short edges of strap down where mc and cc meet (sole and upper portion of bootie).

Weave in and trim all yarn ends.
