The Fun of Crocheting Socks

Free Patterns and Photos By Crocheters

If you want to make socks to wear around the house without shoes, socks made with worsted weight yarn will work but if you want to crochet some socks that you can wear with shoes, then a sock weight or fingering weight yarn is in order.

I've gathered links to free patterns for both types of socks, along with some links to photos that crocheters have posted of socks that they have made using some of the free patterns that are available on the Internet.

  • Sock Making Photos

In her blog, Julie posted a photo of socks that she crocheted by combining the sock body from Grafton fibers Toe-Up Socks pattern and the cuff from the In Your Shoes Ankle Socks pattern at Crochet Me. She also posted a photo of another pair of socks that she made using the Grafton fibers Toe-Up Socks pattern.

Andrea crocheted socks in various colors using the Toes Up Socks pattern at the South Bay Crochet site. She wrote her own Heel Instructions with her adjustments for increasing and decreasing when crocheting from the Toes Up Socks pattern. It's enjoyable to browse Andrea's photos of socks that she crocheted with that pattern: Sock Photos, Fall and Sock Photos, Summer.

Your Own Sock Making Experiences: If you've crocheted socks and would like to chat about your experience, have questions about crocheting socks or have a photo of socks you've crocheted, here's the place to let other crocheters know about it.
