This cape is sized for toddlers and small children. It will fit a range of sizes. The photo shows the cape being worn by a three year old. This same cape should still fit her for several more years.

Materials Used In The Example:
Light Worsted Weight Yarn - Caron Simply Soft brand yarn: Color Lt. Country Blue 9709
US Size H hook

Cape Length: The example is 8 1/2 inches long.
Cape Width: 24 inches at top (neckline) when unfolded (not counting ties) and 36 inches wide at bottom edge when unfolded

Gauge: 3 dc rows = 1 3/4 inches; 4 dc = 1 inch

To Make A Larger Children's Size: Use regular worsted weight yarn and a size I hook.

Abbreviations:
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
ea = each
sc = single crochet
sp = space
sl st = slip stitch

In this pattern, a shell = (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) all worked in a same stitch and a V-stitch = (dc, ch 1, dc) all worked in a same stitch plus starting in row 5: another shell = (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) all worked in a same stitch.

Starting Chain: Chain 80.
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in one loop only of ea ch across (the remaining loop of ea ch will be used in the final finishing round). (79 sc)
