Short Capelet With Scalloped Pineapple Edging Worn As An Overskirt

The photo above shows the Sandi Marshall Capelet in solid blue, crocheted in a short version, with my scalloped pineapple edging added and worn as an overskirt. Here it is worn over a denim skirt. It could also be a great fashion look when worn over blue jeans or leggings. If crocheted with cotton yarn, it could be used as a beachwear coverup.

For the capelet length and style shown above, follow the pattern directions through row 6, then repeat row 6 (3) more times. Next, add the Last Row directions, the Edging Loops Row and all rows of the Scalloped Pineapple Edging.

The yarn that I used in the example is Caron Simply Soft light worsted weight, color 9709 Lt. Country Blue. I used about 4 oz. for this version. I used a US size H hook.

You can use a pin as a fastener for the capelet.
