Row 4: ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in same dc, skip next 2 dc, 4 dc in next dc, skip next 2 dc, 4 dc in next dc, skip next 2 dc, 2 dc in last dc.
Repeat Rows: Repeat rows 3 and 4 for pattern, as many times as needed for the length that you desire (the example is 72 inches long, when repeating the two pattern rows 70 times for a total of 140 rows in pattern, plus a single crochet row at the beginning and at the end). Crochet fewer rows for a shorter scarf or more rows for a super long scarf (super long scarves run from 90 - 100 inches long).

Last Row: When you have the length desired, add one row in single crochet. (10 sc)
