If you've learned how to crochet the chain stitch and the single crochet stitch, you're all ready to get started on making this baby blanket. Those are the only two crochet stitches you'll need!

You'll also need some baby yarn and a crochet hook.

The baby blanket pictured here was crocheted using Bernat Softee baby yarn in the "Antique White" color. I think this color and pattern combination is a safe choice for any baby; it'll look right at home in the baby's nursery no matter how the baby's parents have the room decorated, and it's a great color for either baby boys or girls.

Be sure to check out the gallery index to see more color choices, as well as close-up pictures of the stitch pattern used to crochet this design.

This pattern is available in three sizes: preemie, newborn / receiving blanket, and toddler. The sample you see pictured is the newborn / receiving blanket size, measuring approximately 30 inches square.
