Starting Chain: Leaving a length at the beginning for fringe, with color A, chain 270. (The example on page 1 shows a fringe length of 8 inches.)
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in ea ch across. (269 sc) Leaving a length at the end for fringe, end off.
Row 2: Leaving a length at the beginning for fringe, attach color B in first stitch of row 1. ch 1, sc in ea sc across. (269 sc) Leaving a length at the end for fringe, end off.
Row 3: Leaving a length at the beginning for fringe, attach color A in first stitch of row 2. ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in 2nd sc, dc in next sc, (ch 1, skip next sc, dc in next sc), repeat the directions between ( and ) across the row (as many times as needed) until only 2 sc remain, then dc in ea of last 2 sc. At the end of this row, you will turn, to start the next row (you can add fringe to the end of this row when the scarf is finished).
Row 4: (continuing with color A), ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in 2nd dc, dc in next dc, (ch 1, skip next ch-1 space, dc in next dc), repeat the directions between ( and ) across the row (as many times as needed) until only 2 dc remain, then dc in ea of last 2 dc. Leaving a length at the end for fringe, end off.
Row 5: Leaving a length at the beginning for fringe, attach color B in first stitch of row 4. ch 1, sc in first dc, sc in ea of next 2 dc, (sc in next ch-1 space, sc in next dc), repeat the directions between ( and ) across the row (as many times as needed) until only 2 dc remain, then sc in ea of last 2 dc.
