Photo shows the rabbit and carrot filet crochet pieces joined, with an example of one method that could be used for finishing the joined pieces with outside rounds. On the next page, I have given instructions for making granny style outside rounds, crocheted around a filet crochet piece to make it into an afghan, using my carrot design filet crochet and the rabbit charted patterns as an example.

Make 1 sc Round First: On the completed filet crochet piece, work one round of single crochet (in the same color used to make the piece), with 2 sc around the post of ea dc on the edge of ea row along the sides and an sc in ea sc across the top and bottom. Each time that you come to a corner, make a chain-2 to go around the corner.

On the rabbit pieces, continue with the same color used to make the rabbit pieces. On the carrot piece, end off carrot color and attach color used to make the rabbit pieces (I used color Aran), attaching the yarn in the first sc on the top row of the piece. Follow directions on the next page to continue with the outside granny-style rounds.
