I designed this crocheted headband to have some stretch, for a comfortable fit, with a trendy granny square adding style to the center front.
Materials Used In The Example:
Worsted Weight Yarn - Red Heart Super Saver
Color A: 1 oz. Ocean, color No. 0995 (Multicolor)
Color B: Small amount of Delft Blue, color No. 0885
Color C: Small amount of Blue, color No. 0886
US Size G hook
Headband Width: 9 inches, when folded, with ends joined
Headband Height: 3 1/2 inches
Granny Square Center: 3 1/2 inches x 3 1/2 inches
Gauge: 4 sc = 1 inch, 4 sc rows = 1 inch
Abbreviations:
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
ea = each
rnd = round
sc = single crochet
sl st = slip stitch
How To Slip Stitch (sl st) = Insert hook in stitch, wrap yarn over hook, pull yarn through the stitch and through the loop on the hook, at the same time. A slip stitch does not add any height and is used to join a chain or stitch to another place in the crochet piece.
