Materials: Can be made with any yarn or thread. In the example, I used Caron Simply Soft color Limelight with a US size H hook. Size is about 1 3/4 inches tall x 2 inches wide. (2) 3x5mm red pony beads used for eyes.
If made with size 10 thread and a US size 8 steel hook, ghost spider size is about 3/4 inch tall x 1 inch wide.
Ghost Spider Directions
Starting Chain: ch 7.
Row 1: 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook (the rest of the starting chain is left unworked to be the web strand that the spider is dangling from).
Row 2: ch 1, turn, 2 sc in ea sc (6 sc)
Row 3: (spider legs) ch 6, turn, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in ea of next 4 chs, sl st in next sc, ch 6, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in ea of next 4 chs, sl st in next sc, (ch 7, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in ea of next 5 chs, sl st in next sc) twice, ch 6, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in ea of next 4 chs, sl st in next sc, ch 6, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in ea of next 4 chs, sl st back in same sc at base of spider leg chain just made. End off. Weave in last end. Leave first end for attaching
spider web strand to the banner.
Eyes: If desired, sew small beads on for the eyes. I used two red 3x5mm pony beads, sewn on with regular sewing thread.
