Daisy Mae Crochet Cloche

This easy crocheted cloche works up in no time using half double crochet stitches. Pretty details like surface crochet and a large flower add to the hat’s appeal.

The Daisy Mae crocheted cloche shouldn’t fit as tightly as a beanie or winter hat. Choose the size closest to your actual head measurement for the best fit.

Cloche Brim
The cup-like ripples in this section are formed by working several dc sts into one st. You can adjust the amount of ripple by doing more or less dc in each st than the pattern calls for.

Next Rnd: Ch 3 (counts as 1st dc), 4 dc in same st, sc in next st, *5 dc in next st, sc in next st; rep from * 30 (34, 38, 42) times -- 32 (36, 40, 44) groups of 5 dc.

Embellishments
With cc yarn, make a flower following the 3D Crochet Flower pattern.

Before applying the flower to your hat, use cc yarn to work surface crochet accents. Begin at the top center of the crown and make your way down the back of the hat and then continue around the circumference of the hat working at forehead level.

When working the surface crochet stitches make certain you aren’t pulling the yarn too tightly. If you do you’ll notice the hat won’t stretch comfortably on your head.

Secure flower to side of hat.

Weave in all ends.

If the brim falls too much in your face you can try gently ironing it into place. To do so, fold brim up toward right side (pointing to crown) and iron from the inside of the hat.

Remember: Before ironing make sure to check the care instructions for your yarn.
