I designed this crocheted hat and scarf with active men in mind. My husband needs gear that will keep him warm even in wet conditions, like when he's out fishing, sailing, or doing some early-morning rowing. This set would also be a fantastic for wearing on snowy winter days.
The hat and scarf pictured here are both crocheted with wool yarn, which is the ideal fiber for what I had in mind. Wool is a resilient fiber, giving plenty of stretch; it's also warm and toasty, even if it gets wet.
I chose a crochet stitch that looks masculine and also will stretch quite a bit. The stitch pattern resembles a rib knit, and is a great classic look. You can click here for more info about this stitch pattern.
