If you have an Americana themed kitchen, these potholders are a great addition to theme. They're also a nice addition to a Fourth of July table (or barbecue area / picnic table, as the case may be.)

Rosh Hashana Potholder With Embroidered Greeting

The starting point for this potholder is the easy afghan stitch potholder linked above. The only difference: a design was stitched onto this potholder before the edging was added. This particular design features a greeting appropriate for Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.

If you have Jewish friends, colleagues, or family members, a hand crocheted pair of potholders would be a delightful way to give them your good wishes for a sweet year.

This red white and blue crocheted potholder has cross-stitched details. It is ideal for use on patriotic occasions such as the Fourth of July, Memorial Day, Veteran's Day, or any time.

This potholder design would also be right at home in a kitchen in the UK.

These potholders are sure to elicit a giggle when presented to the dad who's famous for charring lunch every time.

This cross stitch chart was designed by Connie Barwick; the free crochet potholder pattern is by Amy Solovay.

Magic Potholder - Free Patterns and Instructions

The "Magic Potholder" is a clever and innovative idea; it's basically a double-layered potholder that is crocheted in a single piece. I've seen multiple variations of this type of design; it's a popular concept.

Here are a few links to other web sites where you will find free patterns and instructions for crocheting magic potholders.
