Summer Bedspread Granny Square Pattern
As far as bedspreads go, about the easiest idea I can think of is to use a simple granny square pattern as the basis for your design. The first step: crochet a bunch of squares using the granny square pattern of your choice. Then you would join them using whip stitch or another joining technique to create the main body of your bedspread. At the end, you'd add a gorgeous edging to complete the look.

You might also wish to crochet basic granny squares using crochet thread to create a bedspread or coverlet.
These two patterns are similar, but there are important differences between them. Wondering what's the differences are? See a comparison: the summer bedspread granny square vs the basic granny square.

Suns Rays Hexagon Pattern: This is another interesting hexagon pattern that can be used for creating bedspreads. When you look at each individual hexagon, the design looks a little like sun's rays. However, if you join a bunch of these hexagons together, the spaces and textured areas in the pattern form diamond shapes. The design would make a lovely and unique bedspread.
