This pretty red and blue beaded crochet bracelet is perfect for accessorizing patriotic-themed clothing -- or for dressing up a plain white shirt so that you've got all three components of the red, white and blue theme covered. You might want to wear this bracelet on the Fourth of July, Memorial Day, and Veteran's Day -- but it will look fabulous all year around.
Materials Needed to Crochet the Bracelet:
These materials are what I used to make the sample, but feel free to substitute other colors, fabrications and brands if you prefer.
- Beads: round red glass beads -- around 10-12, give or take a few depending on how big you want your bracelet to be
- Fiber: less than 1 skein (8 m / 8.7 yards) of DMC Light Effects embroidery floss; the colorway used in the sample is called "Carnivale Fun," #E-140. If you make substitutions, keep in mind that the fiber needs to be strong enough to support the beads you’ll be using.
- Crochet Hook: Size C / 2.5 mm, or your preferred size
- Clasp or Closure: Either a gold tone or silver tone clasp would work well with this colorway. You can't tell from the photo, but the metallic floss does incorporate shiny flecks of gold, so a gold-colored closure would be harmonious.
