Pattern Instructions

Red, White and Blue Easy Pattern copyright 2005 by Sandi Marshall

Crocheted entirely in single crochet. Multicolor thread forms the color patterning.

Materials Used In The Example:
Size 10 - Southmaid Crochet Thread, color No. 938 Red, White & Blue
You could substitute any size 10 thread of your choice. If you use a multicolor, it will create a color pattern for you, while you do easy single crochet rows. It can be fascinating to watch the color pattern emerge.
US Size 8 steel hook
Wrist Band Width: 7 inches before joining ends. 3 1/2 inches, when folded, with ends joined. This will fit an average size ladies wrist. You may need to make additional rows to fit a larger wrist.
Wrist Band Height: 2 1/4 inches - If yours turns out narrower or wider, that's just fine. Wrist bands can be various sizes.
Gauge: 12 sc = 1 inch, 11 sc ribbing rows = 1 inch

Abbreviations:
ch = chain
ea = each
sc = single crochet
sl st = slip stitch

How To Slip Stitch (sl st) = Insert hook in stitch, wrap yarn over hook, pull yarn through the stitch and through the loop on the hook, at the same time. A slip stitch does not add any height and is used to join a chain or stitch to another place in the crochet piece.

Starting Chain: Chain 26.
Row 1: sc in one loop of 2nd ch from hook, sc in one loop of ea ch across. (25 sc)
Row 2: ch 1, turn. sc in back loop only of ea sc across. (25 sc)
Rows 3 - 68: Repeat row 2.
