For this how-to tutorial, I created photos that show the steps in crocheting a group of three picots. Looks fancy but it's really not that hard once you know how. I used this 3-picot group in my Pastel Snowflake Coaster crochet pattern.

The 3-picot group begins with a single crochet. Then follow Steps 1-4 as shown in the instructions on the photo.

Steps 1-4: See photo above.
Steps 5-7: Click here or click "Next" under photo above.

Picot: A single picot is made by crocheting a number of chains (usually 3 or 4 chains), then making a slip stitch in the first chain made.

How To Slip Stitch: Insert the crochet hook in the next chain to be worked, wrap the yarn or thread over the hook, pull the yarn or thread through both the chain to be worked and the loop already on the hook, all at the same time.
