Free Rainbow Patterns to Crochet

Use this easy crocheted square to make afghans, dishcloths, pillow covers, or any other type of project that can be built out of crocheted squares. The focal point here is a double rainbow design, with red in the center and stripes of orange, yellow, green and blue radiating outward.

This colorful scarf is based loosely on the rainbow, but I've introduced a bunch of subtle differences that make it interesting to crochet. Vivid colors are combined with a neutral tone to make the design more wearable. Instead of crocheting solid stripes or bands of color, the brights are alternated with the neutral color using the tapestry crochet technique.
