Keep it Simple Slippers

Keep your feet warm with the Simple Crochet Slippers. As the name implies, these teen to adult sized slippers are worked entirely from single crochet stitches. You will need to be familiar with working both in rounds and flat in rows.

Make your tot their own version of these slippers by following the Sweet Potato Baby Slippers Pattern.

Skill Level: Easy +

Materials

Yarn: 2 (2, 2, 2) skeins Knit Picks, Swish Worsted [100% superwash merino wool; 110 yards; 50 grams; worsted weight], Color: “Squirrel Heather”

You may substitute any worsted weight fiber for the yarn suggested above. A machine washable yarn is generally preferable for footwear. Check yarn labels before making your purchase.

You’ll need approximately 165 yards (75 grams) of your main color to make the second slipper size (shoe size 6-9).

Crochet Hook: US size G/4.5mm hook.

Adjust hook sizes as necessary to achieve gauge listed below.

Extras: Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.

Gauge: 8 sc and 10 rnds = 2” using size G/4.5mm hook.

Finished Measurements:

Length (toe to back of heel): 9 (10, 11, 11)”

Width (around ball of foot): 7 (8, 9, 10)”

To Fit US Women’s Shoe Sizes: 3-6 (6-9, 8-12, 8-12 wide)

Shoe sizes are given as a reference only. It's best to measure actual foot circumference and length whenever possible to determine desired fit.

Pattern is written for smallest size with changes for larger sizes in parenthesis. When only one number appears it applies to all sizes.

Rounds 1 to 4 make up the toe portion of the slipper. Rows 1 and 2 will take you through the sole of the foot to the back of the heel. The final rows create a heel flap. The heel flap will need to be sewn in place before moving on the the Slipper Edging section.
