Yarn:
6 grams (approximately 3 yards) of Cascade 220 [100% wool; 220 yards; 100 grams; worsted weight]
Color: “White”
If you wish to make substitutions choose a worsted weight yarn for a snowflake of similar size. For smaller snowflakes choose thinner yarn.
Crochet Hook:
US size G (4.5mm) crochet hook
Gauge:
8 sc and 9 rnds = 2” using a size G (4.5mm) hook.
Gauge is given as a reference only. It’s not critical for this project.
Finished Size:
Approximately 4 x 4”

Snowflake Applique
Ch 4, sl st in 1st ch to form ring.
Foundation Rnd: Ch 1 (counts as 1st sc), 11 sc into center of ring, sl st to beginning ch to end -- 12 sc.
Rnd 1: *Ch 5, sk next sc, sl st in next sc; rep from * 5 times more -- 6 ch-5 sps.
Rnd 2: *ch 3, [ch 3, sc in 3rd ch from hook] 3 times to create 3 picots, work 1 sc in each of the 3 ch sts created immediately before the picots, 2 sc in next ch-5 sp, ch 2, sc in ch-5 sp, ch 3, sc in ch-5 sp, ch 2, 2 sc in ch-5 sp, sl st in next sl st; rep from * 5 times more.
Fasten off and weave in ends using tapestry needle.
