Starting chain: With color A, chain 38.
Row 1: (work in one loop only of the starting chain so that there will be a remaining loop left for each chain that will be used when crocheting the outside round), sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in ea ch across. (37 sc)
Row 2: ch 1 to turn, sc in first sc, *skip next 2 sc, 5 dc in next sc (shell made), skip next 2 sc, sc in next sc **, repeat the directions between * and ** 5 more times.
Starting chain: With color A, chain 38.

Outside Round: With color B, ch 1, turn, sc in ea stitch across Row 23, next: (do not turn), ch 2 for corner, then working down the side of the square, sc in the end of each sc row and make 2 sc around the dc post at the edge of each dc row along that side, ch 2 for corner, then sc in remaining loop of starting chain along the bottom edge of the square, ch 2 for corner, then working along the next side of the square, sc in the end of each sc row and make 2 sc around the dc post at the edge of each dc row along that side, ch 2 for corner, sl st in the first sc of this round.
