My Review

Your question could not have been timelier. I bought 8, 400 yard balls of Aunt Lidia’s “Denim” Quick Crochet yarn, it is somewhere between sport and worsted weight, 75% cotton, 25% acrylic and I can’t do a thing with it. It will not slide on any hook nor will it slide against itself in a stitch, it feels as if it has been heavily starched. I’m glad I only paid $1.00 per ball. Cotton will probably never be my favorite fiber, but I have never encountered anything like this. I remember learning quilters running their thread through bee’s wax (I think) so it will slide easily through the layers; I don’t think that would be something a crocheter would want to do. I am open for suggestions.

Would you recommend this to a friend?

No

Thanks for contributing this review. I really appreciate the information! I am sure your submission will save other crocheters some aggravation. I haven't tried this yarn (and after reading your review, I'm not likely to.) So I don't have any suggestions to offer at present. Sorry!

If anyone has suggestions for how to use this yarn or make it more crochet-friendly, please feel free to contact me or post them in our crochet forum. I'll be glad to pass them along so that everyone can benefit from your insights. Thanks!
