What Did You Make?

A heart pocket, open at the top.

The Creative Details - How Did You Make This Project?

Red heart white baby yarn. Boye 00 crochet hook steel.

Followed the heart pattern, but got the first one with one half of the heart shape upside down! Had to twist it to continue crocheting.

The next heart I made I started at the tip, increasing every row by one, to row 26, divide that row in half, complete one heart shape by decreasing one each row on both ends. finishing with 4 stitches at top which is the total decrease.. The edges were more straight this way and the heart a little longer. A lot of edge work had to be done on the pattern to fill in the gaps. I also tried it with a half double crochet stitch it was lengthened by that stitch. SC seems to work better. I am making it for a pocket for a felt stuffed heart I received.

This this would make a great Cat pillow shape stuffed with cat nip.

Advice

  • Still don't have two that turned out alike yet?
  • Leaving enough yarn to complete the right side may of helped.
  • Marking the right side of the crochet piece may help as well.

Anything Else We Should Know?

The last stitch in a row of crochet is the hardest to find! So if you're increasing at the beginning of each row the count from the row before then is just one more stitch if working from the tip up.
