How Charity Crocheters Helped Elisha's Family

Share Your Story: Crochet Enthusiasts Share Their Experiences With Crocheting for Charity

By Elisha

What Types of Items Do You Crochet for Charity?

I was not on the giving end of crochet donations, but I was on the receiving end. My son was born 3 months premature and during our 12 week stay in the NICU, we received many wonderful donations of hats, clothes, socks, blankets, books and stuffed animals. These wonderful gifts really livened up our little corner cubicle and made it feel more like home. We really appreciated the care and concern that these total strangers showed for our family.

To Elisha: Thanks for posting! I really appreciate the insight. It's great for charity crocheters to get a glimpse of how similar donations have helped another family, and I think it will give crocheters an idea of how well-received their donations would probably be.

To Everyone: If you'd like to donate preemie hats or other goodies to help a family like Elisha's, be sure to check out our list of free baby patterns.
