Ronni's Freeform Crochet Nests and Stuffed Free Forms

A Small Free Form

Project Title and Brief Description

Nests and stuffed free forms.. I love using scraps and different even short pieces of yarn and just doodling with the yarn... It is sooo much fun.. Right now I am working on pieces that have been put together to make huge pieces.. You could just tie yarn to each other and have a random ball and start that way or you could change colors as you go.. i have also used shoe-laces and cut fabrics. Anything that is bedable could be used. Even wire..

Tell Us All About Your Project

Nature and just the idea of recycling small left over yarns get me going. Multiple textures layered together without any particular object in mind is quite liberating.. I have done some hats also. The idea of attaching small pieces into one huge one is exciting. Sometimes I just want to make a small one and then I realized I had all these small samples so I just started to attach them all together. I may stretch them on to a frame and then stuff so there ismore dimensional.. I also like to work crochete around things that have holes in...like sea shells or drift wood. The sky is the limit once you get going...

Tips and Tricks

  • Have nothing in mind and just go with the colors and add on wherever you feel you want to... The rule is: there are NO RULES Use different size hooks and different thickness yarns and different colors and you have a great recipe for fun...
