How I Learned to Crochet With My Left Hand
I have crocheted since I learned when I was 10yrs old, now I am 65yrs old and still love to crochet, one thing I have learned through the years is some patterns we have to reverse the directions since so many of them are written for the right handed people. years ago I did a baby afgan with the words to Now I lay me down to sleep done in puff stitch, I kept trying to do this pattern and finally realized if I reversed the lines, line by line it worked out fine. I have since lost this pattern and would love to find it again, if anyone has this great baby afgan pattern please let me know.
I had to learn on my own .
How I Hold My Crochet Hook and Yarn / Thread
I always hold my hook in the palm of my hand and guide the yarn with my right hand this has worked for me.
So many patterns are written for the right hander we have to sometimes reverse the directions to fit our way of crocheting, I have always run into this problem with knitting also.
- just keep on trying and always remember to reverse the lines if needed, always check your needle size if needed and change to get the right stich count.
